Jacksonville has been a Florida financial center since its beginning.
After the War Between the States, it spawned the Barnett Bank. This
home-town product thrived and was purchased by Nation's
Bank. First Union of Charlotte, NC and SunTrust Bank lead a host of
financial institutions of all sizes and services.
